Emergency Vet Visit.

Yesterday while in Petsmart, I spotted "Kitty calm" collars that apparently have the kitty pheromone that Feliway spray/diffusers have. I picked two up thinking that they were worth a try and put them on each kitty. Waking up this morning we discovered that Lea (pictured) somehow got the collar stuck in her mouth overnight and scratched, scratched and scratched some more trying to free herself. There were tufts of fur everywhere, she had blood all over her face and her paws (the white fur made it look even more horrific). One trip to the emergency vet and $300 later- she's home, on pain meds and high as a kite. Not quite the calming method I had in mind.

She apparently shredded her gums on one side so that's why there was so much blood. Mouth injuries and head injuries are similar in that they bleed profusely making things look a lot worse then they are. She also scratched some parts of her face raw but no stitches or repairative dental work needed.
